The Associated Press has named Baltimore Ravens defensive end Terrell Suggs the 2011 National Football League Defensive Player of the Year, according to a report in the Washington Post. The 29 year-old Suggs, who had 70 tackles, 14 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions in 2011, beat out Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen for the award.
